Ogden Man Charged With Child Abuse Homicide In Death Of 16-Year-Old Alexis Rasmussen

After months of investigation, the man held in the death of North Ogden teenager Alexis Rasmussen has been charged with murder.
Eric Millerberg, age 36, appeared in Second District Court by way of a closed circuit TV link with the Weber County Jail. He remained silent as a list of felony charges were read aloud, including first-degree felony child abuse homicide, unlawful sexual activity with a minor, desecration of a dead body and obstruction of justice.
According to prosecutors, 16-year-old Rasmussen died of a drug overdose at Millerberg's home in early September, where they say she had been given painkillers in exchange for babysitting duties. After her death, authorities say Millerberg and his wife, Dea Millerberg, dumped the teen's body in a wooded area in rural Morgan County adjacent to the Weber River, not far from the Taggart Exit on Interstate 84.
Millerberg's wife has already been charged with felony abuse of a corpse. She's scheduled to appear in court February 22nd.
Alexis Rasmussen's had been gone for six weeks before her body was discovered. Police initially believed the popular teenager had run away.
The Millerbergs initially denied any wrongdoing in the case, but were jailed on a series of drug charges and probation violations after North Ogden police conducted a search of their home.
Eric Millerberg's next scheduled court appearance is February 14th.
