Larry Warren, Salt TV Environmental and Travel Correspondent

Salt TV contributor Larry Warren’s love affair with the America West started nearly fifty years ago, the product of a family vacation which took him from his childhood home in the flatlands of South Dakota to Montana’s majestic Glacier National Park. It was there that Larry fell in love with the Rockies, leading to a lifelong passion for all things Western.

Several years later Larry moved to Salt Lake City where he earned a degree in journalism at the University Of Utah before being hired by KUTV and launching a career in TV news that lasted nearly thirty years.

During his tenure at KUTV Larry became one of the market’s top reporters, specializing in the environment and western travel.

His reporting resulted in 3 Emmy awards along with numerous appearances on The Today Show and the NBC Nightly News. It was also pivotal in connecting the Nevada open-air nuclear testing of the 50’s and 60’s to the plight of Utah’s Downwinders. Larry also gained national exposure for his coverage of the Yellowstone fires in 1988.

Beyond his work in television, Larry has written numerous articles for publications throughout the West, most of them keying on enviromental issues. He's also worked as a documentary filmmaker, recently completing Silver and Snow: The Park CIty Story.
