  • The Salt TV Network is committed to protecting your personal information. This privacy policy relates to our use of any personal information provided by you to us, whether it’s over the Internet, by way of e-mails, phone or text messages or other means of direct correspondence or other forms of User Generated Content.

2. What information does The Salt TV Network collect?

In submitting this information, you enable Salt TV and our contractors to provide you with the services, activities or online content you select.

3a. What is a cookie?

  • The Salt TV Network may also use and disclose information in aggregate for marketing and strategic development purposes.

  • Where Salt TV Network proposes using users personal information for any other purpose we will we notify users beforehand. Users can withhold or withdraw your consent for the use of your personal information for purposes other than those listed above.

5. Under what circumstances will the Salt TV Network contact me?

  • In relation to any service, activity or online content you have signed up for in order to ensure the Salt TV Network can deliver the services to you.

  • Where you have opted to receive further correspondence;

  • In relation to any contribution you have submitted to the Salt TV Network, such as our message boards, social pages or via text or voicemail messages.

  • To invite users’ voluntary participation in surveys about the Salt TV Networks services.

6. When will the Salt TV Network contact me?

  • In relation to any service, activity or online content you have signed up for in order to ensure that the BBC can deliver the services to you;

  • Where you have opted to receive further correspondence;

  • In relation to any contribution you have submitted to the Salt TV Network

  • To invite you to participate in surveys about the Salt TV Network’s services

  • For specific marketing purposes users have agreed to

7. Will I be contacted for marketing purposes?

  • The Salt TV Network won't contact you for marketing purposes, or promote new services, activities or online content to you unless you specifically agree to be contacted for these purposes.

8. Will the Salt TV Network share users’personal information with anyone else?

  • We will keep your information confidential except where disclosure is required or permitted by law. Generally, we will only use your information within the Salt TV Network, However, sometimes the Salt TV Network uses third parties to process your information. The Salt TV Network requires these third parties to comply strictly with its instructions and the Salt TV Network requires that they do not use your personal information for their own business purposes, unless you have explicitly consented to the use of your personal information in this way.

9. Offensive or inappropriate content on the Salt TV Network’s website

  • If you post or send offensive, inappropriate or objectionable content anywhere on or to the Salt TV Network websites or otherwise engage in any disruptive activity on any of our services, the Salt TV Network may use your personal information to stop such activity. In these instances Salt TV may use your personal information to inform relevant third parties such as your employer, school email/internet provider or law enforcement agencies about the content and your behavior.

10. What about users aged 13 or under?

  • If you are aged 16 or under, your parent/guardian's permission is required before you provide any personal information to us. Users without this consent are prohibited from providing us with personal information.

11. How long will the Salt TV Network keep my personal information?

  • If you cancel your registration as a Salt TV Network member and your account is deleted it stays on the system for a period of one year for administration purposes.

  • Where you contribute material to the Salt TV Network we will generally only keep your content for as long as is reasonably required for the purpose(s) for which it was submitted. Therefore, some content submitted to, or shared with, the Salt TV Network may be retained for prolonged periods of time or potentially indefinitely in the Salt TV Network Archive.

12. Changes to the Salt TV Network’s Privacy Policy

  • This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time so you may wish to check it each time you submit personal information to the Salt TV Network. The date of the most recent revisions will appear on this page. If you do not agree to these changes, please do not continue to use our websites or to submit personal information to us. If material changes are made to the Privacy Policy we will notify you by placing a prominent notice on the website.
